Villamajor to Ages
I had a difficult start today, as this is the day my sister went to buy her wedding dress.
Missing such a milestone rested prettily heavily in the morning and I don't mind admitting that my sunglasses hid a few tears.
It's amazing how quickly you find yourself within the Camino bubble, and it's only when red letter days occur back home that you realise your 'real life' is waiting for you beyond Santiago. In my bubble, I only ever think about the day ahead and my concerns are only with food, feet and a bed for the night.
It's the epitome of taking each day, or even each hour, as it comes and for someone like me who loves to plan and organise, it's been a great lesson in learning to exist in the moment and trust that everything will work itself out one way or another.
Letting go of some control, following others and taking a back seat some of the time has given me the headspace I need to reflect and focus on my own experience. It's been like a little holiday for my mind - I'm sure my subconscious is in there wearing it's sarong and flip flops and meandering along a beautiful beach somewhere.
I know life will be there pretty much as I left it when I get home and that family and friends are getting on just fine without me, so for now I'm going to embrace the bubble and allow my mind to dip its toes into the ocean for a while longer.
